Accelerated Training Expectations
Our classes follow an accelerated training model, which allows you to complete your certification in the shortest time allowed by AHA guidelines. This saves you hours compared to traditional courses — but it also means the learning is fast-paced and requires your full attention.
Because of the shortened schedule, there are certain required modules and skills we must complete during class. We move efficiently to ensure you receive all the content, hands-on practice, and testing needed for full AHA compliance.
We know you work long hours and your time is valuable. Our accelerated format is designed specifically to respect that — but it does ask that students come prepared, focused, and ready to work.
Please understand this is not something we choose; it’s what is necessary to meet AHA standards within an efficient, one-day model that other training centers cannot match.
If you ever feel unsure about what to expect or how to prepare, we are here to walk you through it every step of the way.
AHA Precourse Requirements
For ACLS and PALS, the American Heart Association requires all students to complete a mandatory precourse before attending class. This is an AHA rule that every training center must follow.
The precourse includes:
- A question-and-answer test (must score 70% or higher)
- A short series of AHA training videos
- Total time: about 3 hours for ACLS and 3 hours for PALS
We understand this can feel like an extra step, especially for busy healthcare professionals. Please know this requirement is designed by the AHA to help shorten your in-person class and ensure everyone arrives prepared.
Included in Your Course
Access to the AHA precourse is already included with your enrollment — there is nothing additional you need to purchase.
BLS Has No Precourse
If you are taking BLS, there is no precourse test required.
If you need any help accessing or completing the precourse, our team is here to support you every step of the way.
